We challenge our students to aim high - and Mr van der Tang has taken that challenge literally.
The drama option are learning to walk on stilts. Why? Well that's a secret that will probably unfold as time goes by. Whatever the reason, apparently this activity is a little harder than it looks.
The stilts have been made by Mr Taylor's woodwork class, and according to Mr van der Tang, 'walking tall is proving to be a bit of a challenge!'
...Great fun!
BREAKING NEWS!
Cornerstone Christian College has won the State Cows Create Careers Junior School division for 2020.
Clare Schifferli took home first place for the teams category, and the College won the school prize. Clare wins a prize pack and the College won $500 for their efforts. Congratulations!
...Well done to all the students who were part of this wonderful result - and well done Mrs Wright for yet another hugely successful year.

- Sandra Dallimore Congratulations Mrs Wright and time all the year 7’s!!
- Pauline Kamchevski Well done!
Over the past decade, Cornerstone has taken part in an iniative of Dairy Australia, called Cows Create Careers. It is a National competition, that brings together professionals within the dairy industry, and showcases the opportunities for students after school. From Veterinarians and agonomists, to farmers and scientists - the students are exposed to a variety of professions and job options.
It is not only a hugely popular program for our students, but is also one we have ...excelled in. There has not been a year where Mrs Wright has hosted that hasn't seen us win a first place prize in some category. It's a huge strength of our Middle School.
Well, today is the prize ceremony for 2020 - but due to Covid-19 restrictions, there won't be a ballroom event - but instead, a Zoom style awards presentation. The students from across the state are gathering now......what will happen in 2020? Stay tuned!

- Jo Gardiner Well done Mrs Wright and kids!

A must see for die-hard West Coast Eagles or Freo Dockers supporters.
Great work!
... See moreThe finishing touches have been applied to the new garden at the Dunsborough campus, which was funded by the BayOK program through GeoCatch.
We have to give special thanks to the wonderful Whitney Trigwell (one of our parents), who was not only instrumental in pursuing the funding in the first place, but who was also on hand to show the students how to plant the vegetation.
Thank you to everyone involved. We are so grateful for you all!

It's that time of the year again! The annual Great Book Swap!
Hosted by our Year 5 class, the Great Book Swap raises money for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. It's a wonderful chance for students to swap books, eat a doughnut, and raise money at the same time.
The details will be coming home with students, and the donation needs to be delivered by Monday.
...A great initiative with benefits all round!
There's nothing quite like an adventure in our wonderful bushland, and the Year 1 class stepped across the road to the bush block earlier today to do just that.
We know that unstructured play is great for developing great kids.
'A wealth of research shows that unstructured play - play that isn't organised or directed by adults or older peers and that generally doesn't have a defined purpose or outcome- is a fundamental necessity for children to thrive physically, emotionally,... mentally and socially' (American Psychological Association).
It's hard to tell who had more fun - the students, or Mrs Kuendig, Mrs Waters and Miss Burge! We say they all did!
Year 7 Science has been busy once again.
Mr Jones and his studnets have been looking at the ability of leaves to produce oxygen through the process of photosynthisis, and also the water holding capacity of different soils.
Nothing like an experiment to embed learning.
...Well done folks!
And here we are again. Throwback Thursday!
This time, we will revisit the journey of our Class of 2020 - the Year 12 cohort.
They started in Kindy back in 2007 - and they've changed a lot over that time. Enjoy!

- Margaret Black Soooo cute!
Mr Meyer's Year 12 Chemistry class has been involved in a really interesting experiment in recent days - they made esters. Esters are the chemicals which give us scents. The students created smells linked with DeepHeat, pears, stawberry lollies and PVC glue. They also investigated which alcohols were most reactive.
We are so grateful to Mr Meyer and Mrs Lucas for the amazing way they engage and enthuse our students.
